Fest Recs!

Jul 16, 2014 19:45

With 113 works and counting, I'm still making my way through, but here are some of my recs from the fest! In reverse order of posting, because I am lazy:

mesh by
siria - I didn't stop grinning the entire time, except when I was wibbly. I love Jennifer's voice in this, and her Ronon is sly and hilarious. (Jennifer/Ronon, PG)

Ascension World Podfic read by
juniperphoenix story by panisdead - a great story and a terrific reading in a dark, ironic tone that matches the story perfectly. (John/Rodney, PG)

A Flower of the Mountain and Hindsight 20/20, both by
busaikko - the first is a Parrish/Sheppard apocafic WIP with some really great tension, emotional and plot. Made me wibbly. (NC-17) The second is a terrific start to an AU (WIP) where John, Rodney and Sam (among other kids) are literally kidnapped into a special school. I really can't wait to see where she goes with this. Her kid voice is pretty perfect. (eventually John/Rodney, R)

To Become Something New by sheafrotherdon - The best parts of the 'verse, the calm, and the humor, and the chaos of life broken then repaired, in a lovely, rich piece opening like a gift. <3 (John/Rodney, R)

I Have Never Put My Hope in Any Other by bomberqueen17 - Team as I love them, strong and together in a shared moment of brilliance instigated by Rodney. Terrific Teyla voice. (Team Gen)

The Airport Series by mayachain - A fascinating AU with a very spare style. I do hope it will continue, although for all I know this is all it's meant to be. Rodney, John, and Zelenka meet young and through a mutual fascination with mathematics. Bwee! (John/Rodney, PG). I also highly recommend her Eleven Peeks at Torren John (Gen).

F-302 Revealed - amycat8733 plays in mischief and my Declassification sandbox by doing an awesome cover of Combat Aircraft Monthly. Heh.

Peer Review by mischief5 - also part of Declassification, but really, stands alone as a hilarious Team busting Rodney's balls, because that's what friends do. (Gen, G)
