OK, so you may remember that sim Stephen got abducted by aliens, and that when he came home, the first thing he did was to go inside and take a shower.
It turns out there was a very good reason for this, though I didn't know it at the time. The game was brutal in its careless revelation:
My reaction can be summarised thusly: o_O
Stephen and Sarah were engaged but I certainly hadn't made them try for a baby or anything. And why was it Stephen who got maternity leave?
Well ... the picture speaks for itself.
That's right. Aliens had knocked up Stephen.
Amusingly, the baby was a girl. (In canon, Stephen has a daughter, and is absolutely convinced before she's born that she will be a girl.) So I gave her the same name as Stephen's canon daughter: Brigid.
Stephen is sometimes an attentive parent ...
And sometimes not, as when he plays chess with the nanny.
Luckily, Strong Bad has a maternal streak and will tend the baby without prompting when Stephen is otherwise occupied.
I was curious to see what the alien baby would look like as she grew older, so I turned off the anti-aging cheat. The notification she was ready to transition to toddler stage came while Morfin was already throwing a party, so I decided to add a birthday cake and let the festivities commence.
Primavera and Strong Bad are excited about the birthday, playing noisemakers:
Morfin, however, is preoccupied by the failure of his party, and is too busy sitting on the floor crying.
Stephen triggers the aging by showing the cake to the baby, or the baby to the cake ...
... and then by throwing the baby into the air, where she transforms into a surprisingly cute toddler.
Stephen is so happy about this, he decides to celebrate by marrying Sarah right then and there. In their PJs.
They then go upstairs to, um, celebrate. Leaving Agent Cooper the vital task of teaching Brigid to talk.
Don't tell Stephen Colbert: the first thing Coop teaches Brigid to talk about is BEARS.
Cooper is very good at this.
That may be because his charisma level is through the roof, comparatively. In fact, when I took my Sims to a community lot to do some shopping, Cooper -- in his Speedo -- proceeded to get down with a lady who'd been smooching another Sim prior to Coop's arrival.
His moves won her heart ...
Either that, or she has ulterior motives.
Those skill points are HERS, not his. He doesn't have a romance aspiration.
Whatever their reasons, now Cooper and NPC Nina are in love. Or at least he's in love with her.
Finally, I leave you with many cute toddler Brigid pics which I have not the brainpower to condense into a cohesive narrative.
Besides her daddy (or would that be 'mommy'?), Brigid's favorite person is Sarah, whom she thinks about and follows around.
Brigid learns a lot from Stephen when he's wearing his Thinking Cap.
Here he is trying to teach her to walk.
Strong Bad still likes her.
You're not imagining things -- the alien baby does indeed glow.
And she is full of love.
Much more so now that she's potty-trained.
