A bottle of wine always goes better with company

Thursday November 19th
Late afternoon

Business is getting slower as winter gets closer. I'm spending more time drawing, and less time with customers.  Business isn't doing too bad yet, but I don't know what it'll be like in winter proper.  Hope the carnival does okay. Which reminds me I oughta visit more often. I still go see Mama N' Abbey regular like but not much of anyone else. I kinda wish Will had stuck around. Haven't really seen Johnny either. An I try not to worry 'bout what that means.

And then there's Verdi. Thinkin' bout that night with her gets me blushing and feeling all warm, much like rememberin' Dorian at the masquerade. I like Lannie also, but more as a friend. She's just fun to be around, much like Genny.  I miss her.

And there's no one in the shop and no one out there either. So I close up shop early and head on out to the Carnival. Before leaving I ducked upstairs to grab that bottle of wine that Verdi gave me. Violet Charm. I haven't opened it for two reasons. One it was so pretty, and two it was something tangible that she gave me. I guess there's a third one as well. A bottle of wine is a bit much for one person to drink alone. They always go better with company.

With that thought in mind I steer away from L'Heure and head into the living lot. There's no guarantie that will Will be home right now but if not I'm sure someone will tell me where is when they spot me at his door.

I knock cheerfully that door, bottle tucked under my arm and call out. "Hey, Will? You home?"

[open to Will]

will, verite
