Day 146, Saturday, October 25th
Sundown, The doctors' offices
Sundown brings a bite to the night air. I am still warm from my recent visit to the farm. I laugh at my own ritual of placing the sign out front the office. The sandwich board seems a better indicator of my presence than any kind of regular office hours. My routine lasts only as long as

"Oh this is gonna SUCK!" I sigh as she turns and fires right at my head.
Wince and wait for the explosion of pain, but it doesn't come. Open one eye to see that the crazy bitch is out of bullets. "Dr. Constantine, I would like you to meet my wife, Shirlee Banderez." Lokan explains as she ditches the gun to draw a sword. "Gatita, this is Dr. Lucien Constantine." He finishes the intro as he dodges out of the way of the blade.
"Your wife?" I say incredulously, unsure if I should try and syubdue her or help her. "Well, that explains the animosity." I mutter, deciding to step back and light up a cigarette.
I groan as Shirlee effectively destroys yet another couch. "Shall I stay in case medical attention may be needed," I ask dryly, leaning against the doorframe. "... or should I let Glass know she'll have work tonight?"
Hmmm.... maybe I should not be grinning at my colleagues sudden perilous predicament. But damn if the look on his face isn't funny.

"Game?! GAME!? You think this is a fucking game joto?!" I thrust my sword towards his face and he dodges again for my sword to splinter through the wall. I try pulling it out but have trouble doing so. That's when I feel the bottled up anger release in a scream of frustration. He's close enough for me to reach him, trying to keep his back to the wall. I keep tugging at my sword from the wall, but I kick him in the stomach following up as he bends with a kick to the face.
He falls to the ground sliding down the wall. The sword pulls free with a rough jerk and I hover over him trying to catch my breath. He regains his composure with that cocky ass smile of his and I know what's next. Some cute remark. Before he even tries, I backhand him. "Cállate bitch!" I pull back my hand to see blood on it. What the fuck? He even looks hurt. I put my sword under his chin and lift his face to meet my gaze. "Talk..." I growl.

She finally gets her sword stuck and I turn my back to the wall, breath leaves me as I bend over the force of her kick, almost catching air when the pain explodes in my face. As soon as my vision clears I smile up at her, she is always beautiful when angry. That only leads to a further strike and the flat of the blade under my chin. I can feel the blood trickle down my cheek, she must have noticed.
"Amor, I came across a small change. I had hoped to solve it long since and return to you." I dart my eyes at Lucien and return to hers, "It was not as simple as I had initially presumed."
Reply
I wander out and chuckle to myself at the sounds coming from the other room as I fill a syringe with a sedative. Really, this is all just too funny....
When I return, Shirlee has just rounded on Lokan and has her sword under his chin, demanding answers.
"Amor, I came across a small change. I had hoped to solve it long since and return to you." Lokans eyes flick to mine, and now my curiosity is good and piqued. I hold up the syringe and smile, if you can get to it buddy, you are welcome to use it....
Wonder what secrets he's hiding?
Reply
"Oh, and what's that, Lokan?! You a fucking maricón now, Lokan?! You like sucking cock too much and you just can't stop?!" With that thought, I look over at the man watching us. He looks far too entertained by this. Tells me he knows the fuck at least. Lokan looks weakened. Almost pathetic. It could be just one of his games though, except for the wounds not healing. Is he human now?
I pull my sword away from his throat and kneel down to his level to make sure he looks me right in the face when he lies. "Tell me Lokan... what could cause you to leave the one you claimed to have loved? Did you expect me to just wait to see if you returned? I searched for fuck knows how long!" Oh god...I can feel my eyes starting to tear up. Fuck.
Reply
No, not the tears. I don't mention that I didn't trust her to not kill me once she found out about my weakened state. "Amor, gatita, we shall talk. In private. Then we can talk about your return," At her look I hold up my hands again, "And I shall follow soon. I just do not think there are any jobs open in town for your particular... skills."

I do lower my eyes though when I see she is starting to get emotional about this. Maybe I should leave them to their privacy...
"...Then we can talk about your return, And I shall follow soon. I just do not think there are any jobs open in town for your particular... skills."
Oh, really? Did my jovial, annoying business partner just leave an opening a mile wide? He did, didn't he? I now raise my eyes and smile placidly, crossing my arms in front of me. "Why Lokan, haven't you been going on and on about us needing a proper receptionist here?" The look... oh god the look he shoots me! It is a decided effort to keep my face neutral. I spread my hands apart in an expansive gesture. "I don't know if such a job would suit you Mrs. Banderez, but it would be something for the time being."
Smile wide at my partner. "May as well keep the business in the family, don't you agree?"
That'll teach you to keep on about me and Tez having a 'lover's spat'!
Reply
"Any jobs? What the fuck does that have to do with anyth..." Wait a moment. He's trying to get rid of me already! I pull back to strike him again "Fucking pendejo!" Before I can do anything, the sound of the doctor's voice stops me. "Why Lokan, haven't you been going on and on about us needing a proper receptionist here?"
Oooh really? My thoughts undoubtedly match my expression from the guilty look on his face. "I don't know if such a job would suit you Mrs. Banderez, but it would be something for the time being." I feel my eyes widen as I stare into my husband's. Finally, I look over to the doctor as I answer him. "No. I think that would suit me just fine." "May as well keep the business in the family, don't you agree?" My head swivels back to the son of a bitch and I wait. He better know the answer to this one.
Reply
You motherfucker.
My face goes blank at the light in my love's eyes. As she turns to the doctor, I do as well and nod in acceptance. I shall find a way to pay this one back, more than petty teasing on his latin lover Tez. What was the Matriarch saying in her guise of innocence? Something about not one, but two females of his?
"May as well keep the business in the family, don't you agree?" I'm left with caramel eyes waiting to flay me alive. I could handle her when she could not stab me to death in a fit of pique. The question is, can I do so when she truly can kill me? "Yes, of course. The shock, of delight, in seeing you flew the thought from my head." Leaning forward, I wrap my arms around her and kiss her cheeks in welcome. At least I can keep an eye on her here, though it may be safer to burn the paperwork rather than let her file it.

"No. I think that would suit me just fine."
I beam at her and watch her eyes train back on Lokan. Buddy, if you have any self preservation, you'll agree to this. Granted, she may be a wild card, but damn! If it won't be a ball to watch. Glass and I can make popcorn.....
"Yes, of course. The shock, of delight, in seeing you flew the thought from my head."
Maybe a bit late for the save, but at least he recovers my hugging her. "Well, that was easily settled." I say lightly, setting down the syringe on the exam table behind me. "Shall I leave you two alone to catch up? I really don;t want to interrupt your reunion."
After all, my work here is done.
