Day 98
Before dawn
I’m half dozing on the couch at the ranch with I see images of Luke. Limping and bloody and scared. It’s been so long since I’ve seen him, I think its just a dream for a second, just my agitation at all the shit going on in this town and Luke blindly riding through it. Then I notice the angle that I’m seeing him from, close to the ground, looking up at him and his hand reaches for me, Pollux, its no fucking dream, Juno’s CUNT.
Calling Hera, I send her off to search, what fucking road is he on. Could be any of them, fuck I don’t even know what run he was on tonight. Doesn’t take her long to spot him, takes me even less time to be on Hermes and taking off toward the road leading south out of town. Can smell the fucking blood even before I see him, and its all I can do to keep my eyes from changing with it as my anger rises to the surface. I scan the area and whatever did it is gone for now, better hope I don’t fucking find it.
I’m off Hermes even before he comes to a full stop, walking quickly to Luke. “What the fuck happened?” I growl, bending to check his foot. A bite. Thank fuck, most of the blood on him isn’t his though, “How many? You okay?” I ask cupping his face in my hands, wiping the blood from it. May have been just an animal attack, can’t do much about that. Something odd about the blood, can’t quite put my finger on it though. Thanks again for making me half blind father, you fuck.
