Today is just not my day...
A number of things happened in rapid succession, making this one of the worst days I have experienced in quite awhile. Starting with the most recent disappointment, I discovered that thanks to the 'C' I received last semester from the Asshole Prof. with a God Complex, I won't be graduating magna cum laude. That grade took my GPA from a 3.79 down to a 3.71, just short of the 3.75 cut off.
Next off, my best friend since childhood (we've known each other since I was 11) called and told me that she is getting married on March 10th, and could I please fly out to Seattle (I'm from PA) and be in the wedding...I would love it!! Unfortunately, I don't think I will have the $250 for a plane ticket=-/ I am considering asking my parents if I can borrow the money from them, since this is my best friend we are talking about and she is (barring divorce) only going to have one wedding.
On to what is perhaps the worst of all the disappointments...The $1,400 refund check from my school loans has gone missing. I thought I was careful with it, but obviously I wasn't since it is nowhere to be found. Thankfully, it wasn't endorsed--I am not a complete idiot--so I am hoping I can go down to the University Administration Building tomorrow and wheedle them into giving me a replacement check. I'm just upset over the time I spent looking for the effing thing and all the paperwork I am going to have to fill out in order to get another one.
Why, oh why am I unable to catch a break?
