Between baseball and basketball season, I might totally have to spring for an extra DVR at the house, because apparently, TWO STREAMS ARE NOT ENOUGH! I found basketball games recorded instead of Flash Forward and Bones last night. NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Thank you, Jesus, for HULU! *Edited after I looked online and it will cost $99+$5/mo to get a 2nd dvr. BOO. Guess I'm Hulu-ing it for a while.
TV:
Bones, 519, "The Rocker in the Rinse Cycle"
Another filler ep. I think I'm doomed to think all the eps from now on will be filler, now that Booth/Brennan won't be happening for a while. Is it too late to have one more big mystery/villain? But we got cute snapshots of all the supporting characters, especially Cam. I adore Cam's character. She's intelligent, beautiful, extremely capable and funny as hell. It's nice to see her be a little awkward at the dating. Gives the rest of us normal girls a little bit of relief that even someone like Cam finds dating not so easy. This episode really clinched the fact that I really like Arastoo. I think he's tied with Wendell as my favorite intern (though no one can ever eclipse Zack! Though he was not an intern). I find the scenes between Hodgins and Wendell and now Arastoo to be reminiscent of Hodgins and Zack's bromance, which I miss immensely. Really though, girls playing electric guitar IS hot. So much so I picked up my acoustic and played between commercial breaks. I need to practice more real guitar rather than Guitar Hero. xP
Books:
Returned The Blind Side and was lent another Michael Lewis book, The Big Short. It's about finance and I hope to learn something from it, though I have a feeling that I'll find connecting with finance much harder than football (Gah, I both loathe the fact that Friday Night Lights isn't on and dread when it returns since it will be in its last season!) Read some more of Wizards From Mars at Borders but am really finding myself disconnected from it. I'm reading it just to finish it, which hurts, because that's how I felt about Percy Jackson #1. After reading that, I made myself feel better that wonderful fantasy lit like Diane Duane's Young Wizards series was out there, and now I'm hating on the latest one. Sigh. Would have tried to pick up my mood by reading some more of Changes, the latest in the Dresden series by Jim Butcher, but it was past lunchtime and I was getting hangry.
Okay, it's off to bed to watch one episode of Doctor Who and then blissful sleep!
