I submit that you totally won that argument because you said:

Which, on first pass I read as:

"Why would having sex with a mush-head be anything but a disadvantage to a species."

Which not only made me laugh out loud at my desk, but also makes me worry deeply about the evolutionary repercussions of popular culture.
