I am bored.
My grandmother used to say that only boring people get bored.
Alright then.
Its not that I don’t have plenty of very exciting things to be doing, or even that I don’t feel like doing them. It is that I am stuck at work with little to do, and little motivation to go find more to do.
Here are some highlights of the last week or so:
I went camping with my Discipleship Team (small group). I absolutely love these people. Lots of good stories and pictures from the weekend.
I have been getting very convicted and motivated to actually work toward "Discipleship" in our Discipleship Team. I have been thinking a lot about the guys that invested time and energy into my goofed up mess to see me grow. I started praying that God would do what it took to get me ready to invest in some other guys around me the same way, and then to give me a guy to work with. He gave me three. Its harder than I thought.
We tore down the walls in the basement and we are in the process of putting it back together now.
Jesse is in. It is quite cool to have him around. He and Paul will eat anything.
Travis has started moving in.
Jarrod is waiting for the basement to be finished.
Paul and Tom are occasionally grumpy.
Chris, Alyssa, Eric, and Jen are splitting off to form a new young marrieds small group. Tom and Jenna are going to lead ours for now. We learned about it whilst camping. I got all emotional.
I get to set up and possibly help launch the fireworks downtown at city park this year. The father and uncle of one of the girls in my group does the show. She got me a place helping. This is good for me... all of you might want to watch your heads.
I think I am going to go home early and do one of the things I am dying to be doing
instead of working.
