Poem for Shawn :)
A man with a love and a dream in his eyes
traveled and wandered like a bird in the skies.
He lived, laughed, and cried in the special Shawn way,
was no less than himself in each passing day.
He always lived life as best that he could
and never let anyone dictate how he should.
His soul and his twinkle caught a girl in a tizzy
and before she could speak, she was already dizzy!
They frolicked and played all summer long,
but they worked and they riddled and their bond became strong.
They fell in so deep, toes were beyond sight
and they swam ever deeper to their purest delight.
The fish and the sun remained on their side.
They had fallen in love. There was nowhere to hide.
Each star and each tree, it seemed, whispered a song.
A light and a fire had never burned so strong.
Her knight had arrived, one not like the rest.
She knew in ten lifetimes, she could be no greater blessed.
Through turmoil and torment, he stayed through it all.
He never backed down if she came to a fall.
She waited for freedom and a life of her own
and made plans to continue on into a life quite unknown.
In all of her little goals that she made,
her love for Shawn never did fade.
She knew that forever, she'd always be his.
There was not a question, nor puzzle, nor quiz.
So she sat and she thought and daydreamed and such.
She yearned and she thirsted for the next time they'd touch.
