19 Years later....

... and still going strong. Hubby and I celebrated our 19th Anniversary by going to work on the 17th. :P Well then on the 19th (appropriate day no?) we *gasp* went to Colorado. We haven't crossed the border in two years, since, well, since all the crapola hit the fan in a major way and such. Anyway... so we went down to run an errand. Then we went to dinner.

And what a dinner it was!!! I have been a fan of most things Celtic for some, well when did Highlander come out? 22 years I reckon. That was really the first time the concept of the Scottish Highlands became a part of my understanding. It was a 'place' surely. It was the 'Scots' and whatnot. Yeah, yeah and suchness. Well who didn't learn a bit more about the Clan MacLeod after watching that movie? Hmm? Really. So then I find it is the land of the wee folk and all this music and all these awesome traditions and the accents. Woo! Awesome! Mmmhmmm.... then... Ms. Gabaldon. Yeah. Mmmmhmmm. If you have read her books.... 'nuff said. Jamie and Frasers and tartans, oh my! Have I Scots in my background enough to justify all this gaga suchness... mmmm... a bit. Not a lot. But a bit. Hubby? Maybe... at any rate we have both romanticized the heck out of the culture like some do with French Cuisine or whatnot. So... where did we eat?

Stonehouse Grille OMG. It. Was. Fabulous! What a wonderful Anniversary meal! We had haggis, bridies, a melt in your mouth filet with a side of tilapia, dark stout from Scotland and a fabulous bread pudding with a scotch sauce for desert and a side of Drambuie ice cream. We kept looking for angel wings or something, 'cause for sure it was one of the most fabulous meals we have ever had. We are definitely going again. It was fabulous. Did I say that already? Well again, it was a gastronomical delight of untold proportions. If ever you are in Fort Collins, Colorado and have a hankering for some excellently prepared food with a Scottish fling, do stop and enjoy the Stonehouse Grille!!!

We ate haggis... and we LIKE it!
