Beware of kimchi
May I just say that the fire extinguisher and flashlight that I bought this past weekend were unable to protect me against some explosive kimchi. I opened the jar, and shhhhhwwwooooooosh! The stuff began to expand and creep out of the jar while hissing and gurgling. I watched in amazement until it finished. The jar does warn that it could "overflow due to natural fermentation". Consider yourself warned about potential kimchi explosions. It was still tasty, though.
