man o man, i haven't laughed this hard at saturday night live in SO long!

background: ashlee simpson, musical guest of the night, "performed" her hit, pieces of me, for her first set. for her second song, she was supposed to sing a yet to be released single. so jude law introduces her, and she starts trying to dance sexily. then whoever was at the controls decides to make things interesting, and starts RE-playing a pre-recording of the FIRST song, again! including pre recorded vocals, hyuk!
so she gets this pacnicked look on her face, and, i kid u not ladies and gentlemen, starts doing a HO DOWN! and then walks off the stage.
at the end of the show she made a career killing comment about how her BAND started playing the wrong song. at first i felt bad for her, but when she sold out and blamed her band for the fukup i went back to thinking of her as another prepackaged bubblegum hack exploiting her older sister's fame.
