Today was Sir Edmund Hillary's State funeral... and I fell in love again with the Navy's uniform. *__*
New Market shops all gave in and closed as there's pretty much no possibility of customers when everyone were hanging out in either Auckland Domain, Broadway, Remuera and the Holy Trinity.
That place is SO beautiful. Really.
Unfortunately, my father wouldn't let me go (he wanted to watch but had to work) and so he dragged me out of bed and made me watch TV with him. The live screening I mean. Man, I wish I could have gone.
Oh well, the service started at 11 and went on till like 1pm so it was quite long (I suppose it's a standard one) but many people turned up to take part in saying bye. Holy Trinity was apparently open for over 24 hours (straight) for people to come to pay their last respects to Sir Ed last night. A friend of ours went last night and she said thousands were already there and had to wait a long time to go in.
There were four New Zealand Navy, two Army and two Air Force representatives on the drill squad carrying the casket. It was really pretty.
And urgh... colourful. O_o
Since violetpenny showed me LittleKuriboh's Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series yesterday, I've been wanting to have a burger and milkshake.
Thing is, I went to Dresssmart to look for some stuff to eat but THERE'S LIKE NOTHING TO EAT. D<
I walked around and nothing seemed particularly appealing. I walked past McDonald's like three times and each time I noted that it was probably the only place that could sell me a burger and a milkshake... and it certainly didn't look very appealing.
Curry didn't look particularly appealing since today is quite a hot day... and I'm sick of Kebabs on Queens. And there's no way I'd buy from cafes, they rip you off like silly. I passed the Sushi place but nothing jumped out at me and I didn't want to eat sushi to begin with.
I ended up going to Baker's Delight and bought a bun to eat. O_o
Oh and I spent $30 on Phillips earphones. I need to get myself a job.
SOMEONE JUST HIRE ME FOR GOD'S SAKE. Before I run off to beg McDonald's for a job. Or even worse, FOODTOWN.
