Brick darted a glance behind him and saw his rock from earlier, wedged in the street and smoking pink.
“But,” Blossom said, pulling his attention again. “Thank you for wasting my time with your nonsense. Really.” She scrunched her face up at him, her smile thin. “It's been a pleasure.”
Then she kicked off the ground and sailed into the sky. Brick, against his better nature, gaped after her. He turned to survey the damage he had done to the store, then back. Was she letting him off? Was that it?
