I saw that you had posted fic, so I was really happy! And then I started reading, and remembered that today was Halloween and any fic you posted would be either creepy or sad ... it ended up being both, but also kind of bitterwsweetly happy? I feel like it's not completely tragic, and is the tiniest bit hopeful? And evocative, as all your writing is. But poor Professor ... :(

I like your take on it - that it's not completely tragic - but I'm not sure if I genuinely believe that or if that's just because I really want that to be the case for the Professor. Frowny-face indeed :(

God, the little details in this fic... Everything, really. UGH. I am sad now.

Mission accomplished! (Thanks for mentioning the details; I really wanted all those little bits to make this piece.)

It could be creepy, if it wasn't told through the Professor's POV. If it was some future resident with stuff moving around and things turning on and off, they could make it sound really creepy indeed. However when someone you love and miss is haunting you, you are right, it reads as sad.

My favorite moment was him figuring out how to take them to the movies. A scientist's mind applied to communicating with spirits... It shows how much he wants to believe but the use of his reasoning also shows him to be as reliable a narrator as most (i.e. he doesn't seem crazy).

I kept wondering as I read, are they super-powered ghosts? Can they still vacuum by picking up all the furniture? Do they know they are ghosts? Is it due to their powers that they became ghosts or due to their love of the Professor or what? So call me engaged in the world which you created. ^_^

Oh my God, that is a really good idea and I'm kind of upset I didn't think of it earlier. Shoot!
