I spent a good Saturday afternoon kicking the tires of these scooters at the
Vespa Seattle boutique, although I didn't actually take 'em out for a test drive.
One thing is for sure is how much of a thrill it would be cruising in a Vespa ET2 with wind-in-your-face exhileration. It's affordable (for those with a JOB), cheap to insure, and the that legendary Vespa mystique it carries from the old days of Roman Holiday. Just ask any young hipster or some old Italian who knows. Even my late-grandfather had owned a couple of these scooters to commute to and from work.
Now I'm torn between this and buying a used beater car for about the same price. I could be looking at a vintage Vespa also for a couple thousand less than a new one and getting that car. Hmm...
