I have discovered my love for White Russians anew. I'd been drinking them all throughout the trip to Mexico and I finally got the Vodka/Kahlua balance just right. Tonight, I am drinking one out of a glass made specifically for drinking milkshakes out of. Because, let's not kid ourselves, that's what one of my favorite beverages essentially is- A Kahlua milkshake. I long to try a grasshopper or a pink squirrel. Yep, I'm a girl.
cacophonyblood came over yesterday. She was in the area for a friend's birthday thing. It was an absolute joy to see her, as usual. We watched the new Futurama movie, "The Beast With A Billion Backs", which was hilarious and awesome, although I think I liked the previous one a little more. It actually added something to the overall story. I showed her all of "Antique Bakery" that had been subbed thus far, which also accomplished the task of getting myself caught up on it. Gaycakes is quite the fun show, and the angst melds smoothly with the rest of it quite well. We went out to see "The Wackness" at its only showing at 9:30 last night. Pretty good flick, though I couldn't bring myself to completely like Josh Peck, seeing as how he made all the mistakes I made in high school (although I can't brag that I lost my virginity then- seeing how it turned out for him though, this might be for the better). Lastly, we watched a good 10 episodes of
Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged, which we both found pretty damn funny, and then, alas, she had to head out this morning. A wondrous visit, all in all.
Today was pretty mellow. After hangin' at the crib for a bit, I headed downtown to drop off my resume and an application at Half-Price books, who are hiring, though upon seeing the stack of applications in their in box, and hearing that they only had 'one or two' openings, my hopes dimmed slightly. I consoled myself by buying the first volume of the newly released Black Lagoon manga at Comic Relief- the only portion I've read of it thus far being the omake, and good lord is that mangaka smoking some of the pricey stuff. Also picked up the first volume of MPD Psycho on the cheap, which is basically a manga version of Dexter with more gore and multiple personalities, so I'm hooked on it already.
I came home to find my mother in a mood to push me out in the open world- i.e. make sure the majority of my day isn't spent in the basement, which ended with me having a Craig's List ad and a number for UC Berkeley's registrar office forced upon me. Mothers of the world, I understand that you mean well, but know that you can be just a tad overbearing at times.
Tomorrow brings a jaunt to Izzy's for Akagi and other types of merry-making.
