Save Up All The Days

Sure is hiatus in here I return from a brief leave, having been doing many exciting things. Chief among them, a decision to return to a higher institution of learning for a short time. I'm going to look into a Certificate Program at UC Berkeley in Information Sciences (read: working with databases or in libraries). I won't get started until January, but if I can't get a job right now, this is the next logical step.

Moving on to things of real import, comics. I picked up the first issue of Uncanny X-Force this week. From the title alone, it seems like a shameless continuation of another branch of the X-Men franchise, but you would be dead wrong- deader than a Hydra grunt with Deadpool's sword through his tiny brain- to assume that. Rick Remender may be a criminally underutilized talent at Marvel- his penchant for humor has made Deadpool far more palatable than the hacks currently working his three dozen ongoings right now. And despite not (yet) having read any of the X-Men events from the last 5-odd years, it was still easy to get what was going on; the chief job of a #1. Check it out if you're able, it's a damn good time.

AdultSwim.com has a new web series, Carl's Stone Cold Lock of the Century : Of The Week, that I've been watching of late. I'm not a sports man, but if you enjoy the humor of ATHF, odds are you'll enjoy this.

Visited cacophonyblood yesterday- and two weeks earlier, after my cousin's wedding. This is relevant because we saw "Catfish" during my earlier visit and I neglected to mention it here. Enrapturing, suspenseful documentary about a relationship in the internet era, I highly recommend it. And last night, we went to see "It's Kind of a Funny Story", starring one of my man-crushes Keir Gilchrist. Hilarious, neurotic tale of self-discovery and romance in a mental institution. Definitely worth checking out. We also got amazing pizza and I 'showed' her Commentary! The Musical. Damn good day trip.

personal shit, duct tape, at the movies, hittin' the comic stand
