A.F.K. FOR FIVE DAYS, BBL
Hi guys- not a lot actually going on, just figured I should hit y'all up with a post before the South Californians- poiuppx and his lady friend Talia- come on in to town tomorrow morn.
Since the last post, been unsurprisingly quiet on the home front... Went and got a haircut, this layered thing that feels like it's taken a pound of hair off my head, and my new stylist is a wonderful fella. Today I headed over to Oaktown where I got a pedicure (wish you could see my toes right now, they're like little buttons) from a fairly unknown spot near Rockridge Bart.
...and I might as well mention the comics and such I've been reading lately- Just got done with Warren Ellis's first crack at Astonishing X-Men. Decent stuff, I loved the alt.-universe two-shot, especially the steampunk X-Men. Overall, Joss's run was better. Even the first six issues hit me more than these, but hopefully, assuming Ellis is trying for an uber-arc, we'll be seeing the ramifications of what he put down here come in to play and it'll all be worth it. Man hasn't steered me wrong so far.
Also want to mention something I read a while back, and am about to tear through the second year of it- The Ultimates, Mark Millar's modern take on the Avengers. It's got the punch of the best summer blockbuster, and I'm excited to get through everything up to Ultimatum so's I can get started with the slowly-accumulating pile of the new series he's penning, as what little I have seen/heard of it looks bonkers- in a good way.
Mostly this week has been made up of me teetering on the edge with anticipation for my guests tomorrow... I just hope all these plans of mine go well, and it's as enjoyable for all of us as I'm wanting it to be. Lord knows how I'll get to bed tonight.
