I need to stop reading the news...
What does it say about our country (or at least a significant segment of it, whom shall remain nameless at the moment) when we're keen on spending billions and billions of dollars invading a country that had ZERO to do with 9/11, yet stage massive protests against giving its own population the basic human need of health? Pardon my cynicism, but I'm hearing echoes of Mel Brooks when the Roman senate in "History of the World" yelled, "Fuck the poor!" If I'm going to pay taxes, I think I'd prefer them to go to something a little more noble than "bombing the middle east into glass," as some would gleefully prefer.
