Weather's been crazy here all weekend - five minutes of sunshine, five minutes of torrential downpour, mudslides, thunder and lightning, the works. Yeesh. But at least my flowers are getting watered. :D I understand this is going to last a few more days. Just bonkers.
We decided to have a little gathering next Tuesday for Q's birthday, so now I'm working at a clip to get some things done. I'm spending my next few nights pulling up carpeting and laying down some flooring and getting as much done as we can before we head up to Mom's for a few days over the weekend. Whee! Gotta love home improvement projects, eh?
My other concern is getting back to San Diego before Pennsic. Flights are obviously not that cheap for the summer months, and I'm frankly weighing the cost of buying a plane ticket against buying that much in garb to get me through (I have some of my garb here, but certainly not all of it). I suppose Uncle could use the money if I asked him to throw me together some Persian garb, or even just simple tunics. I dunno. I'll have to keep checking the fares and deciding what I need to do. Ugh.
On another front, my term as Speaker for the Gaylactic Network is coming to an end, and I've decided not to run again. Too many changes over the last year, including a lot of changes in my priorities, so I'm using my time for other things. Hopefully this will free up some mental time for me to get moving on the art pimping biz. I've already got the artist's agreement drafted (never got any feedback from other art and SMOF friends on it, alas), so perhaps it's time to send it out, get the artwork rolling in (at least two of my artists I'll see at Pennsic), and jump in. In fact, Q just did a nifty 3-part piece that I want to see if I can sneak into the Comic-Con art show, so... :)
