Over the last two weeks, I have been friended by numerous people during my absence from LJ. I usually would not react badly to this, as I am here to make new friends and read about people's interests. The thing with these recent adds is that all of them are written in Russian, which I do not understand, and all of them have only between 15 and 30 entries. So what am I to make of it? I don't understand what the journals say, and although they don't look like "spammers journals" I'm not quite sure why the people have friended me, as more than likely they would never comment on my posts or anything because I post only in English, with the odd thing (song lryics for example) in French.
I have to say that I almost completely F-locked my journal because of this, because I'm not quite sure what it is that these journals are following. One thing tells me it may be to keep up with any photo-based images I post so they can be hotlinked back to - a practice which is very common amongst Russian LJers... If this is the case, I would like those people to know that I will not put up with such practices for long, as hotlinking uses up my bandwith.
So, enough is enough!! I can read English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Corsican & a little Hebrew. If you add me and your journal is in any other language, and is not art, graphic or picture based, I WILL NOT friend you back!!
