This meme is actually quite timely, since I am inexplicably on a huge Oasis kick right now.
List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your livejournal along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to.
1. Oasis - Wonderwall
This was very frequently played in the taproom of Charter during many a Thursday night. Recently, I've started listening to it during work. A lot. It is such a good song, both musically and lyrically, and that's a combination that is so rare these days. I got the tablature and I've been playing it on my guitar nightly and trying to sing along.
(EDIT: For the first verse, the line "I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now" has a Cadd9 chord on 'now' which is so pretty, but the rest of the song sticks with the normal progression with Em7. This is a shame.)
2. Oasis - Champagne Supernova
Another Charter classic. I went back to Princeton in October to do recruiting for Microsoft and visited the club while I was back. A bunch of bandies were there and after six or seven games of flipcup, the song came on and we all sang along in our loud drunk voices. It was special. =)
3. Oasis - Don't Look Back in Anger
Last Oasis song I'm obsessing over this week.
4. Real McCoy - Run Away
Remember Eurodance in the mid-90s? It was awesome.
5. Luscious Jackson - Naked Eye
Yup, more mid-90s. Good coding music.
6. Crash Test Dummies - Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm
I think I might prefer the Weird Al version, but the music is kinda mellow. Silly-ass lyrics, though.
7. Chevaliers de Sangreal (Da Vinci Code score) - Hans Zimmer
The only song to make the list from this decade. Pretty sweet song that builds nicely in true Zimmer form. From the last scene of the movie before the credits, back at the Louvre.
I tag your mom, who counts for seven people.
