For your listening pleasure

In honour of
pod_aware Day 3, a few audiofic recs. It should be noted that, on the whole, I enjoy the opposite of most listeners -- short, gen, limited music/effects, and a strong narrator voice rather than voice acting for the dialogue. Not to mention rare fandoms, or at least rare-to-audiofic fandoms.

Greek myth
Persephone Lied, by Spuffyduds, read by helens78 (3 min 59s)

Spuffyduds' poem is an interesting take on the Persephone myth, and Helen's expressive reading really brings out Persephone's emotions and the poem's humour.

Lord of the Rings
Flowers of the Forest, written & read by Altariel (3 min 58s)

Every word is deliberately chosen in Altariel's short fiction, and it's a joy to hear her interpret those perfectly chosen words. The end of this piece is particularly moving in the spoken version.

In Passing, by Altariel, read by Greylin (9 min 40s)

Greylin might be my favourite podficcer. Her reading is incredibly professional; one wouldn't blink to hear her on Radio 4. Sadly her output is tiny.

With the increasing number of podfics out there, it can sometimes be hard to navigate to find the ones that best suit you. Recs are great way to find podfics well-loved by others or share the gems you already know and love. To find out more information on podfic and podfic recs, check out Pod Aware on DW, LJ or Tumblr.
