So, at long last, I have finished my Jack/Kate fanmix. I'm cross posting it to fanmix too but it always takes a while for the post to get through the queue. Anyway here it is:

This song is from Kate's P.O.V. The words in this song are sort of jerky and fast, kind of like thoughts on overdrive. I sort of imagine it like Kate's mind, jumping between wanting to run away or stick around Jack.
Past In Present - Feist
Gotta know who's got your back
Because they're right in front of you//
So much past inside my present inside my past
Inside my present
This song can be either P.O.V. Its about how much of their past's are playing into their present situations: the things they've done, the choices they've made. But despite history, they're still looking out for each other.
Back in Your Head - Tegan and Sara
I just want back in your head
I'm not unfaithful
But I'll stray
When I get a little scared
This song is a bit more time specific. Its Kate's P.O.V. during the season three disconnect between Jack and Kate and while she was with Sawyer.
With Arms Outstretched - Rilo Kiley
Don't fool yourself in thinking you're more than a man
'Cause you'll probably end up dead//
And if you want me you better speak up
I won't wait
So you'd better move fast
This could also be taken as either P.O.V. but I imagined it more as Kate's. Its just a reminder that they both have competition and despite Jack's confession, he's still hanging around Juliet an awful lot.
Godspell - The Cardigans
I’m one of a few survivors
In a drawer labeled "lost and found"//
You can tell by the way they move you
It's not murder, it's an act of faith, baby
More of a general song about the survivors on the island. The end of the songs reminds me strongly of Jack and Kate though.
Elevator Love Letter - Stars
And I don't know how to love//
Don't go, say you'll stay
In this song, amusingly enough, the roles are reversed. The female singer is Jack and the male Kate. It describes their pre-island characters, Kate always running away and Jack always working.
Gold Lion - Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Outside, Inside,
This is the moon without a tide,
We'll build a fire in your eyes
This song is also general. For whatever reason it reminds me of the two, though no specific lyric fits particularly well.
The Dim and The Dark - Jump Little Children
And now I know that everything is alright
If we stay between the glow and the light
This is from Jack's P.O.V. He loves Kate but he's still a little wary of her, nonetheless, he admires her.
The Mixed Tape - Jack's Mannequin
I read your letter
The one you left when you broke into my house
Retracing every step you made
This song is also from Jack's P.O.V. Its sort of what I would imagine if they'd all gotten off the island and Kate had run away. She'd run but she couldn't help but be drawn back to Jack. Meanwhile Jack would be working nonstop and wondering where she was.

Again from Jack's P.O.V. its again a little wondering after Kate if she'd run away and a little admiring again.

There is nothing to explain
Yet again Jack's P.O.V. this is the sort of dance I imagine Jack and Kate were doing after the rescue. Between their own feelings, Aaron, and Kate's trial they've never really gotten a chance to resolve all their issues and unasked questions. They can't be too close because Jack's testimony needs to seem true without the possibility of his being in love with Kate, though he is.
Time Running - Tegan and Sara

I need water, yeah, and a love love love love
The time you've got me running
This is also the post-rescue jig only from Kate's P.O.V.

Another time specific song, Kate's P.O.V. in season three when Jack is becoming chummy with Juliet. She longs for his company but feels the gap that has grown between them.

I'm freaking out that we've started breaking down
Before momentum picked up
Kate's P.O.V. Again this is Kate worrying about Jack and Juliet and feeling a bit hurt and a bit lonely.

cause by now, I know you better than you know yourself
and I know what you really need
Jack's P.O.V. At this point, there's no way Jack's going to let Kate run away, though I don't really believe she would. They've gotten to understand each other so well they almost know the other better than themselves.
