boots made for walking

What do you all think of these boots? I'm not sure if I'm ready for cowgirl style boots, but I do like these. Thoughts? I'm hoping to wear them with casual skirts, and under pants and jeans would be nice too. I don't want high heels and would like them to be knee-high. Must be brown.
I do not want to spend a ridiculous amount of money, but am willing to spend some. I want to be able to walk around in them and be comfortable. Nothing too dressy.
