Setting: Last night, the first class of the semester for me and bunch of mostly male, all white students.
Me: So, now I'd like you all to go around the room and tell us your names and something interesting about you, to introduce yourselves to your classmates.
Joe Schmoe (your basic average youngish white dude): Uh, my name is Joe Schmoe. Something about me? Uh, I like Asian chicks.
(Stunned pause from me, snickers from the room)
Me: Well, that's certainly an interesting first impression to make for the rest of us.
Joe: Uh, what? Oh, I mean, I like Asian young women.
End Scene. If he shows up again next week (doesn't drop the class), it's gonna be a long semester.
I probably won't be on the Internet much tomorrow, and Friday morning we fly off to Puerto Rico sans children and won't be back till late Monday night. So adios, friends and neighbors, see you later!
