pissed off

Dear Sirs and Madams:

For over twenty years, my mother, father, sister and I have all driven Fords. We have purchased and enjoyed four Escorts and two Mustangs. I have driven my own Escort across country, from coast to coast, and have been so happy with it that I've recommended Ford cars to family and friends for years. We've been extremely happy with all of these automobiles and I had planned on continuing to buy Ford, especially since I support buying from American-based companies whenever possible. Now that I am married with two children, I had hoped to buy all of our family's future cars from Ford.

These intentions ended when I read about Ford's recent decision to appease the American Family Association and agree to stop advertising in gay or lesbian publications and also stop sponsoring gay and lesbian events.

I am appalled that such a traditionally American company, one that is part of our history and is crucial to this country's status as the leading superpower in the world, is turning it's back on American values like tolerance and democracy in order to curry favor with a despicable organization such as the American Family Association, notorious for being anti-family, anti-Christian, and and truly hateful to American citizens and real American values. I'm especially disappointed in your choices in light of the employment policies, such as partner benefits, that have made you a leader in the business world.

I'm not sure what you all think Ford will gain from your recent actions, but I can assure you that you have lost the loyal customers in my family. I can also assure you that I will be sending a copy of this email to everyone I know and alerting everyone in my daily life about Ford's horrible decisions regarding the gal and lesbian community.

Perhaps someday soon, you will realize the terrible errors you've made, and I will able to continue the Ford tradition in my family.

Sincerely,
