(no subject)
So I have essentially this afternoon off. I'm technically on call I guess, but I don't have any clients scheduled for me to go see or any trainings to do, so it's nice to be able to sit down and do some cleanup/reorganization around here.
It's been a pretty busy two weeks for me, lots of trainings to do, kiosk problems to fix, etc. Last week on Friday I got sent out to Fort Stockton (West Texas) for the day, so I ended up having to leave here at around 4 am to get to the airport for my 6:30 am flight, fly up to Dallas (since Southwest doesn't have a direct Houston -> Midland/Odessa flight) then out to Midland/Odessa, then drive 100 miles out to Fort Stockton, then the 100 miles back, fly back to Dallas then to Houston and end up getting back at around 9 pm. Long day.
We went and saw the new Fantastic Four movie on Wednesday. Surprisingly, I thought it was better than the first. The Surfer's special effects were pretty, as expected, but I like how they did Galactus, leaving it as a vague almost elemental force roaming around the universe. In the normal Marvel continuity, Galactus is this gigantic dude in purple shorts who goes around with a giant jackhammer and eats worlds (c'mon he was made in like the 60's!). In the Ultimate universe, Galactus was a viral swarm of little spaceships that had a swarm/hive mind. I'm kind of glad they made the big G neither of those and something different alltogether. We've also got tickets to a preshowing of Transformers next week, so I'm expecting to see flashy special effects again, but not too much substance.
