Apprentice and Idol update..
It's times like this it is a bit embarassing to come from Iowa, but I would like to say that most Iowans are not like Tana was during that finale.. 'blush Talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.. She might have actually created some goodwill for herself by having invented the shape of the brochure, but then to blow it all by being that obnoxious.. If this had happened a few weeks ago, I would have felt bad for her, but this time I was actually a bit relieved: Kendra deserved it, and that just summarized it right there. A bit insulting to be stuck with either Ms Universe or a fancy remodelling, but given what Newsweek has supposedly said about the prior winners, the job they are promising Kendra might actually live up to what she will actually get. I guess next we get to see Apprentice with Trump and Martha Stewart both this fall (in seperate shows).. Like a trainwreck.. I can't..look away.. gah
As for AI, I feel bad for poor Vonzell, trumped (heh) by Carriebot and Bogart.. The latter of course I don't mind, he really does have some serious talent, but the former, in all her faux farm glory, I can do without.. I wouldn't be surprised if they reveal she has never even been to a farm, but I guess it proves you can perfect the art of vapidity even there. I guess with TV and internet, it doesnt really matter where you grow up these days, you can still end up being manufactured. I never expected AI to make Kimberly Caldwell seem genuine :) As for Bo, it just seems like he has already been a star for 10 years, and is now trying to make a comeback.. I know he hasnt started yet, but he just seems so familiar.. During the show last night, when he was choking up in the court house of his hometown, I couldn't help thinking he was thinking: "man, this place seem so different from when I was being heard hear for drug possession last time".. But seriously, it's not like we stop laughing with Robin Williams or stop listening to Rolling Stones because they dabbled in that stuff in the past.. Lets just hope it doesn't drag him down in the future.. So, in conclusion, go Bo! Knock one out of the Park! (oh thats right, wasn't that the impression Carrie had never heard?..suuure) :)
