When will we learn from our past mistakes?

That hope and optimism,
when anchored to our favorite sports teams,
will sink faster than Mary Shelley's husband.

In their 103 year existence, Hull FC had never won a top flight match. (Let's just ignore the fact they'd never played in one) Until today. Courtesy of our Fulham lads, who looked primed and ready to claw their way into another nerve-racking relegation battle. Lucky life isn't all about sports, right?

Its not enough that the Chargers did this to me countless times. That the Padres grinded me through 5-7 miserable seasons before I cast them away. Its a fact of life. Sports fans are born to suffer. And for some odd reason, I went into this 2008-2009 premier league campaign thinking that this year would be different. Oh what a silly, naive child I can be.

Its lucky I'm as resilient and happy-go-lucky as I am in daily life, because the amount of abuse I take from sports is enough to drive anyone to stark raving lunacy and a warm bed in the nuthouse.

You know I love every minute though. The Spectatorial Masochist.
