Journals? More like an RSS Feed...

I've got issues with livejournal. For starters, a journal is meant to be a series of entries chronicling the events of something or someone. Some dictionaries might not agree word for word, but the idea is consistent here. So the beauty of a journal is that you can look back some time from now and remember all those names and places that become obscured under the effects of repetitive alcohol abuse. I mean lets face it, no one is going to sit down and read in infinite detail the meaningless anecdotes that make up our lives, updated with each passing mood and phase we go through.

So my question here, is why do the oldest posts automatcally go to the back?
I suppose it makes it easier for someone who reads the journal religiously to quickly scan for recent and riveting chatter, but lets be honest, who is going to do that here?

And in terms of usefulness for me, am I really going to forget what I wrote yesterday as opposed to six months ago?

(HERE IS WHERE THE POST BEGINS)

So anyways. Digging through boxes I found loads old books. Flipped opened The Great Gatsby and decided to have a read, seeing as how I would consider this time of life thematically to be very opposed to the themes old Fitzerald* describes in the novel.

What I first found out is what I expected. I'm a moron. Its not as easy as I remembered to just rustle through 10 pages while monitoring CNN and browsing pictures on facebook to see just how hefty all these old El Cajon friends had become while I was carousing about. I struggled. The old joke about losing one english word for every chinese word we learned held true.

So on that note, lets relearn a word we forgot..
supercilious |ˌsoōpərˈsilēəs| |ˈsupərˌsɪliəs| |suːpəˌsɪlɪəs| |sjuː-|
adjective
behaving or looking as though one thinks one is superior to others : Now he was a sturdy straw haired man of thirty with a rather hard mouth and a supercilious manner.**

*Just found out he died at the age of 44. He was a heavy drinker. By my calculations that leaves me another 25 years or so.
