Thus says Geoff Johns on his twitter account,
"BLUE BEETLE NEWS from DCE!! We have a live-action test of Jaime Reyes' scarab activating his suit. It. Is. Awesome."
"Blue Beetle's going to appear in most of the Brave and the Bold's this year and we're hoping to develop a live-action show. Fingers crossed!"
"If I can break it out of the vault, I'll bring it to SDCC. LIVE ACTION BLUE BEETLE!!"
"My surrogate sister gets excited about these things :) RT @batmansgirl DC ENTERTAINMENT IS DEVELOPING A LIVE ACTION BLUE BEETLE TV SHOW! :)"
http://twitter.com/GeoffJohns0 Well, on the plus side, Jaime appears in the DCU at a time where it MAKES SENSE that he run into Green Arrow, Zatanna, Aquaman etc. as they would already have been active for some time, unlike in Smallville... where they really wouldn't be.
Allegedly this show may be up to replace Smallville, as it nears its final season, which may be a good thing as being a 25 year old Clark Kent who is doing superheroics while not yet being Superman is... awkward.
Another plus is that its New Mexico setting may mean that they'll be able to film it in somewhere that actually looks like where it's based, unlike the very much Canada-looking Kansas of Smallville, as they may be able to shoot it around Los Angeles maybe and reduce costs maybe? Apologies if parts of LA and New Mexico don't align, most of my dealings with US seem to occur between Cincinnati and Chicago. XP
But on the negative side, they could just rename Jaime Jamie, base it in another part of the country and cast a 26 year old WASP underpants model as the lead.
Still kinda hopeful though.
I hope it gets further than the Graysons show did, because unlike everyone else, I think that that one could actually have had some potentional.
