Tea for Two

Summary: Leaf brings Storm some tea.

I am amused at the order of my Leaf and Storm fics are going to be posted in… >3 (And then I realise hours later that this isn't the fic I was supposed to start with. Oops. Oh well, it works out better this way, and it's in the right week! XD;;)

The cups clattered on Leaf's tray as he balanced it on one hand to knock on Storm's door.
There was a pause and though Leaf strained his ears, he only heard a muffled murmur. Oh dear…
Leaf cautiously pushed the door opened and waited to see if that would elicit a stronger response.
There was none.
Breathing a small sigh, Leaf entered Storm's room and was greeted with the expected sight of Storm surrounded by paperwork, his eyes dark and swollen.
"Have you been up all night?" Leaf asked as he set the tray on a chair, making sure to not disturb any papers.
Storm merely stared at him like he had problems focusing on Leaf's face - that was enough an answer for Leaf.
"You need to take a break," Leaf admonished him lightly, starting to pour tea into a cup.
"But these need to be finished today," Storm practically slurred, his head dropping for a second before it bobbed back up again.
"I know," Leaf said, filling the second cup, "but you'll have to do them again if you make mistakes."
Storm frowned, going cross-eyed briefly, and then sighed, setting down his quill. He rubbed his eyes with his fingers before getting up to stagger around his desk and picked up one of the cups, wrapping his hands around it. Leaf was reassured that Storm didn't seem to concentrate too hard on the simple task, so Storm wasn't that close to collapsing. Yet.
Breathing in the scent of the tea, closing his eyes, Storm eased himself onto his bed, making sure the tea wouldn't slosh around.
As soon as he did that, Leaf could tell from the way Storm melted into the bed that he wasn't going to stay awake much longer even if he tried.
Well. When that happened, Leaf would make sure Storm wouldn't spill any tea on himself, and then he'd see if he could tackle the rest of Storm's work while he rested.
