Gwah, I oculd have pretty much used my 'anguish' fic for this. =P
I can't remember if there's a limit to how many rasengan Naruto can do.
I don't think I got the theme right. ^ ^;

Naruto grumbled to himself as he stared out the window. The feeling he'd felt earlier that day still hadn't gone; he was still feeling off for some reason. He wasn't in pain, just not feeling right. He was also sure it wasn't because of the food he'd had for breakfast either.
He settled down further, his arms crossed under his chin. It was a completely cloudless night and all the stars could be seen clearly. Naruto watched them for a few minutes before pushing himself away in disgust. He was wide awake at night and he was staring out a window? What the hell was wrong with him?
A few minutes later, Naruto had jumped out the window and was making his way quickly towards the training grounds.

Even though he'd ran and jumped as fast as he could to the training grounds, he was still feeling restless when he arrived there. Naruto clenched his hands into fists and began to pace. It didn't help at all.
So he had a lot of energy - why don't he do something with it? A few seconds later, there was a decent sized crater in the closest tree. For all the concentration it took to make the rasengan, it didn't actually feel like he'd used the technique. Fuckin' great.
Naruto did it again and again and again until the area around him was littered with holes. He was finally shaking at the end, his breath coming in short gasps as he let himself fall to his knees. He sat there for a while, hearing only his harsh breathing, his blood thundering in his veins and the wind whistling in the trees.
Except, even though he was tired from the exercise, he realised he was still feeling restless. "Argh! Damnit!" If he was close enough to punch something, he would have. Instead, his fist thudded into the ground. "This sucks," he muttered.
A rustle to his left. He scrambled to his feet, kunai at the ready, until he saw who was stepping out of the shadows. He blinked. "Eh? Iruka?" His teacher waved to him, a friendly smile on his face as he walked over, though he was looking a little up at the trees. "Don't you have a mission tomorrow?"
Iruka's smile turned wry. "I couldn't sleep." Iruka's gaze focused on him more the closer he got. "What about you? Shouldn't you be resting after all that training?"
Naruto shrugged. "Maybe I'm used to it now or somethin'." He had always been doing something when they were on the road but he shouldn't be feeling like this, right? The next thing he knew, he could be imposing rules on himself like Fuzzy-Brows did!
He frowned at Iruka's chuckle. What'd he say? Disgruntled, he threw himself to the ground, so he was staring up at the stars. He heard Iruka sit somewhere near him.
Now that he was lying on his back, he felt his muscles relax. It also felt like he wouldn't be able to do anything for a while though. Crap.
It was quiet for a while before Iruka spoke up. "Did you know that people used a device called an antikythera mechanism to map the position of the stars?"
Naruto made a face and moved to see his teacher. Iruka was sitting with his legs stretched out in front of him and he was leaning on his hands as he stared up at the sky. "You're givin' me a lesson?" Now? was left unspoken.
He got another chuckle for a reply.
"Why'd people do that?" He didn't get a chuckle this time; Iruka hit him on the head. "Oi!"
"To know where they were. To find their way home." An exasperated sigh. "You weren't paying attention to that class. You can't recognise any of the constellations can you?"
Naruto scowled. "They're dots in the sky. So what?"
Iruka flicked some grass at him. "It could save your life."
He snorted and didn't reply. The good thing was that he wasn't feeling so restless anymore.
