Ha, that Simpson's episode is horribly accurate! I agree things are looking very dark, although there are a couple of silver linings on the cloud. In a few year's time the British government will no longer be able to blame everything bad on "EU regulations" (ignoring the fact that we've always had power of veto). Plus apparently far more young people voted to stay in the EU, which gives me hope for the future. It seems that Brexiting is a baby boomer thing - and I really don't know what excuse they've got for forgetting the teachings of WW2 so quickly - but at least the younger generation are aware, if not of the past, then at least of the blooming present!

Wales' behaviour is absolutely grotesque. I wish they'd go ahead and separate properly from the UK, instead of settling for the carefully measured doses of independence Westminster currently gives them, if all they're going to do is bite the hand that feeds them. Cornwall can sink into the f*cking sea for all I care - their pathetic insistence that "Cornish" be recognized as an ethnic group was always just xenophobia in thin disguise. On the plus side, my native Devon had two wards - Exeter and South Hams - that voted to Bremain, so at least we're not all furriner-hating evolutionary throwbacks ;)
