Yeah, it's interesting to ponder what would have happened to her if Nelson hadn't died at Trafalger and it's sad to think that no matter how smart she was, in that society she still had to rely on a man.
yes, there were just those smallish beginnings of some women realising that there might be alternatives - but its along road from Mary Wollstonecraft to say 1929 when all women could finally vote - or whatever marker we might use really.
