I've been dying to read this all day and have been too busy to get near it till now. It's wonderful. You're a genius. For me, this is up there with Miss Kittie's canon. I adore AUs where Archie and Horatio get to stay together and Horatio tells Pellew where to get off.

He had declined Pellew’s offer. He would rather rot on half pay with Archie than command the finest ship of the line without him.

A ship of the line doesn't keep you warm at night, although most likely Archie hogs the blanket so he's not kept warm at night anway, but you know what I mean.

This is lovely, how it should have been. Its nice seeing them kinda cute and domestic like this.

I love how Archie knows and understands, even though Horatio didn't tell him, and says what Horatio needs to hear.
