today i was out shopping and i saw a little boy, had to have been about four, with his mother. he saw me coming and said "hey...mom!" thinking i was his mom. then he ran to his mother and said "mommy, i just called that lady mom! i thought she was my mom! i thought she was you!" and it was cute.
the mom grabbed his hand and walked the same way i was, slightly ahead of me. coming the opposite direction was a middle aged looking, relatively healthy seeming man in one of those power scooter cart things, who was with what i assume was his wife. as the little boy walked by them, he looked at the man and said "hey, retard!" unsure of what he'd said, i heard the man's wife ask "did he just say 'hey retard!'?" and the man said yes. and then the wife about fell over laughing, as did i.
...when i told my dad this story, he asked me if the boy's name was sunny and if it was really just a memory flashback i was having.
that kid would've been my friend.
