Hooray, a Katri-comment! [Spoiler (click to open)]I think I'll keep Anastasia cheesed, at least unless she ends up needing another aspiration instead. She's easier to handle this way.
It is indeed a good thing to know someone Really Nice, but I have so very few of them! Deadeye will get quite tired of talking about cheese over the course of his life, I'm sure.
Oh yes, if that drama was still going on, a Dream Date would have been impossible! Hooray for rebuilds and their potential for relationship resets, that's what I say!
Possibly it might be a default? I haven't got any default skintones, only some eyes, but maybe? It would be a real bear to figure out what's going on, so maybe I won't. It seems to be just a cosmetic glitch really.
The strategy for the kid training tasks was actually the one suggested by Callista (the challenge creator), IIRC. I believe her strategy was to have the person and child move in and then move back out, but perhaps having a hack to make the child selectable will work too? I just don't know yet. The brainstorming is pretty much me just writing down my thoughts so I don't forget, since I hit these roadblocks all the time! Callista said the challenge should be quite doable with a little preplanning, but I'm not so great at strategy.
Anastasia is never lucky in love, no matter what she would like you to think. :(
I always roll for the community lot tasks, although I am not always able to complete them (as with "Rally Forth!" in this episode). This is not the strategy Callista recommended, but as I mentioned, I am not so good with forward planning and so I picked a strategy that gave me the highest chance of success. I do have 38 points earned for 39 days played, which is a pretty good record, but if you look at the actual scores, you'll see that about half the points are actually from community lot tasks. Without those, I would be failing miserably -- but that's me. you appear to be better at forward planning, so maybe you won't need that crutch when you add this challenge to Lakewood. (You *are* going to add it to Lakewood, aren't you? I hope so! I'd love to see what you do with it. :D )
I'm so glad you enjoyed the episode! Thanks for reading and commenting!
I read below that you're considering a 50/50 to hunt down the culprit for the vampire skin thing. It just crossed my mind that if you're lucky and it really is a default (and not, say, a weird side effect from a hack or something), it might be that the creator has named it something including "default" or maybe "def". So perhaps you could search for that in your Downloads folder and see if there are any surprising defaults in there. Of course, it could be something else, and it could be that the creator didn't name their default that way, but possibly worth a try.
Thanks for the thoughts on the challenge. :) I don't know if I'd be really all that good with the planning, 100 days seems like it's a lot about the luck, too; it's hard to prepare for *everything*. Anyway, I think I'll probably add the challenge at some point. I don't know if I want to do it this rotation or wait a bit, but at some point. :)
I'll give that search a shot, and when I do a 50/50, I'll start by pulling my defaults folder, just in case it hitched a ride with an outfit or a hair or something. I just didn't want to have to. :(
Yes, I agree that luck plays a lot into the challenge... but if I'd thought a bit, I could have had Pong or Rebecca talk to that vampire and built up a friendship. After all, there are two vampire-related items on the list that will probably come up at some point. You can prepare generally for most of the items on the list with care. (Callista said you should be able to prepare for all of them, but acknowledged that because of her particular brand of neuroatypicalness it might be easier for her than for others.)
I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the challenge! :)
