Like Christmas...yippee! This too will surely pass.

I don't usually wake up at 5AM on Christmas any longer, but when finally do crack open my little hazel microscopes to the world I still get that sense of wonder. I usually can guess most of what I will recieve, but I'm always surprised by something. When I was growing up, Christmas was the only day that was never sullied by flying knick-knacks, police calls, or a wonderful beating with a yardstick. So, it's a day that has always held good feelings even when I didn't celebrate it for a few years in protest of uber consumerism.

Today I woke up to that same feeling of anticipation. I don't really believe the Democrats are the great friends of working people that they claim to be, but they sure are alot better than those damn Republicans. To my delight the Democrats won the House and still have a chance to take the Senate, too. I'm excited about this, but I realize that just as the excitement of Christmas wears off all too quickly, so will my sense of relaxation in the fact that at least some branch of government is out of the control the Replicans. By next month I'll be fuming about some stupid thing Democrats have done that goes against what is right for working people.

But alas, I plan to do something about this. So stay tuned for more to come.

republicans, democrats, christmas
