Hello everyone!!
I'm happy to report that my parents and I made the road trip home in one piece (well I guess that would be 3 pieces, but whatever). And the transition this year I think will be a lot better for me than last year... last year I struggled a lot and really had a hard time. For some reason, I feel like I accomplished more in myself at school and I finally have time to stop and realize it.
My sister Bekah comes home from her mission in a week, and I am so ridiculously excited.
My other sister Katie was telling me that a week ago, the bishop of our singles ward (which is actually a really awesome singles ward and I love it- it is a lot of students from cal-state Fresno, and a lot of BYU students home for the summer and BYU grads, on the whole, a good group of singles) gave this big dating fireside. In this push for dating, he informed our ward that once a month, he is going to have four guys over and they are going to plan a date that will be sponsered by the bishop (as dinner, etc. will be at his house) to increase the amount of dating. I think one of his counselors will be doing this twice a month. So we'll see if the Horspool family feels any of the repurcutions of such a suggestion.
But I think because of this, my sister randomly and uncharacteristically got motivated, and we may do sister dates. Basically me, Katie, Sarah Beth, and Bekah (Miriam just isn't well enough to gather the energy) will cumulatively ask every boy in the ward out on a date. So if we actually do it, it could be very fun, and if it's not fun, at least I will gather some good awkward stories to add to my collection.
Tomorrow I think I may start my job hunt. My mom heard of this one woman who likes to hire LDS kids to teach swim lessons, she might already be fully staffed, but I am going to give her a call anyway... I would pretty much be obsessed with a job like that.
I hope everyone is doing well and that, for those of you still in Provo, that your Spring classes started well today.
I love everyone!
