Closer

My sister and I went to see Closer last night. We went into the movie not knowing much more than who was playing in it and that it was a love story for adults. As we sat there, a truly beautiful movie evolved. The movie wasn't what we expected, but was amazing. At different points during the movie, we both sighed and nodded our heads because we could totally relate to what was happening. After the movie, we couldn't quit talking about it and we're trying to keep ourselves from going to see it again. When we heard it was a love story for adults, we didn't know quite what to think. I figured it would be like a stupid teen movie, only with adults playing the characters. But for us, what made it a love story for adults, is that we could relate to it. We've both been cheated on, we've both had our hearts broken, we've both begged and sobbed and been miserable. And that movie portrayed exactly how relationships are when the teen crushes are gone and the relationships become more serious. Just seeing those images on the screen really brought back a lot of memories for both of us, and at one point Katie whispered to me that maybe we shouldn't have come to the movie. But we sat there and watched everything and we came out of the theater with even more appreciation of where we have been in terms of our relationships and where we are now in our current relationships. It's a great movie and I totally recommend it to anyone who is, or has been, in love. It's not a teen movie, though, not a lot of action or anything, just a great story told by some wonderful actors.
