in other words: go read it.

Welcome to Dystopia!
Entering a long-term and politically dangerous food crisis
by Jeremy Grantham

Normally when I rec something I quote a little part of it. This time though - no. I cannot pick out a part of this which really shows what this paper is about, the introduction is plain simply too long, and I basically love every aspect of this paper around equally much, so I have not been able to pick out a single part of this letter. So instead I'll just ramble about it. Yup.

It's very rarely I get really excited about something I read on the Internet. Well, tbh I rarely get excited, so there's that. See, normally I share things because I think it can spread awareness about a subject or 'cause I think people reading this LJ will find it interesting. This is not why this time. I'm reccing this 'cause I got super fucking excited when I read it!

It's not an uplifting read, and it's not about subjects I normally find super-interesting, but it's filled with so much understanding on the subjects it deals with. This is a letter written by an economist to his clients about economy, climate change, poverty and the food crisis, and it shows how these subjects interact with each other and affect each other. Yup.

I'll go through my flist and comments on my posts asap, but dunno when that'll be. Apologises for the lack of, well, reading and, hence, commenting/responding lately.

subject: climate change, subject: economy, subject: food, reccing: culture, subject: poverty
