2nd Day Back (A loooooong day...)

Jan 06, 2010 23:35

So today had it's ups and downs.

Up: meeting a "facebook friend" for the first time when we shared a class together this morning.

Down: finding out that my philosophy prof is the kind of professor who hates what they do - couldn't be more bored or dissatisfied... :S I think I'm going to try to switch out of that class.

Up: Neopets!

Down: Internet failing on my laptop (while on campus) MAJORLY, and then me trying to sort it out for an hour and a half.

Up: Making X-Files icons in the downtime (waiting for a response from either my dad or the IT people). And internets being back on.

Down: Walking into my next classroom early, and interrupting another class (oops!)

Up: ASTROPHYSICS! YESSSSSSSSSS! I'm so excited and scared and nervous and freaked out and excited about this class! I've been waiting 4 years (actually, more like 8) to take a course like this. Huzzah! I'm going to be learning about the physics of stars, people! Woo hoo!

BIG HONKIN' UP: So... remember the guy from the first three "paragraphs" of this post (loooong time ago)? I never really described him, 'cause I never locked my entries... and I'm not locking this one, but whatever. He's adorable in a nerdy, quiet, scruffy, AWMGODDIJUSTWANTTOHUGHIM kind of way (a quiet Eli from SGU), and we did a lot of random smiling at one another back in 2nd year. *takes a moment to remember the grins* Okay, back on topic - he's in my astrophysics class. And you know how when you re-meet a crush of yours years later and you think "What the hell was I thinking?" aka the spark is gone? Yeah, no. That didn't happen to me. Instead my stomach jumped up a mile in a half. Oh, me. And I saw him across the bus stop, and willed him to look and smile at me. But given the fact that when I'm all dressed up for winter my face is a dot in a huge circle of hoods, hats, and scarved, I sincerely doubt that he recognized me from his position 20 ft away. But still... I'm going to be in his class for a whole semester!

Down: Bus was unbelievably crowded, and I "wasted" about an hour on youtube watching clips of the gay couple on Oz (of course, one could argue that watching to incredibly hunky guys kiss passionately isn't really wasting time...)

Up: Cleaned room (was turning into a pigsty), had a scrumptious dinner, actually finished the laundry I put on, showered, and snuggled up with mom and Rose on the couch to watch a wonderfully funny episode of the Vicar of Dibley.  It's the one where Dibley gets a radio show for a week, and hilarity ensues. (Spoilers: including Jim's program on the morality of having sex with a poodle, and Frank's coming out of the closet on radio (while nobody listens), not to mention Owen as a cool, totally groovy radio jockey. End le spoilers.)

Forgot to mention: I got an A+ in my essay writing workshop (yaaaay 1st year courses taken in 4th year!), and my "The Modern American Experience Class" has morphed into "The Presidency of JFK", so huzzah again!

Arg, I need to read 40 pages for my class at 8:30 tomorrow morning. Time to end this entry!
