Christmas Eve this year was a cozy affair, with a few close pals, alcohol, chit-chats and a DVD where two of them watched with their eyes closed. It's amazing how they did it, really.
Started off the day working from the comfort of my room, and then driving off to pick Bee up before heading to Suntec to pick up my Christmas Pressie. ^^ Two others came along and we did our BBQ-shopping in the mega-mart. Most people must be holding BBQs too, since we visited at least three marts and they had already run empty of wire-meshes. Thank heavens for the neighbourhood shops that sell almost anything where we finally got our hands on a wire-mesh and a disposable pit.
Only reached Bee's place at 8, and since it was a wet, wet night, Qiu - being the fantastic fire-starter - was managing the BBQ against howling winds and splattering rain. It was so squeezy at the staircase, and Bee was so fearful that neighbours might be led to the pit due to the amount of smoke, that the cooking was a very fast affair and we retired back into the house quickly where we ate, drank, and made merry!
Bee & Pumpkinz preparing the food (and vodka).
Some of the yummies.
The great chef Pumpkinz doing her thing.
...And the excellent fire-starter doing HER thing.. at the pit. So.. you know what I mean by 'howling wind and splattering rain'?
Our enormous pit.
Sunny arrived! ..With another bottle of red.
The very quick cooking session resulted in a very packed pit.
We tried to be healthy by balancing with some mushrooms.. But seriously, those yellow blocks there are margarine. =p
Sher's effort - the marinated mid-joints! The raw version.
We retired back into the house with this amount of food for 5 people!
I hope your Christmas was good too. It's always the company that counts in my opinion.. Happy New Year, everyone! :)
