The whole recent Watchmen thing that's been rattling about the zeitgeist
lately, and is starting to overripen to me, finds its validation as all the cosmic
alignment and reason for being to arrive at this lovely gem:
This guy plays his rendition of The Smashing Pumpkin's "The Beginning is the End
is the Beginning" on piano, apparently it's his own arrangement. It makes me happy,
so Alan Moore can go eat a dick, and the fact that there is a home console game
coming out associated with the film (ugh), etc. etc. doesn't diminish my joy at
hearing this over and over and marveling at humanity's endless capacity to bubble up
moments like it.

And here's T-Pain's classic "Buy U A Drank" set to a minimal beat and the kind of
piano treatment that sounds like the credits to a Cheers reunion show.
It also has inexplicable Queen moments (i know, i know) where I can totally hear
Freddy Mercury nailing this over a piano, the little choral hooks don't hurt this
association as well. The production is a little mushy, but the concept is sound.

Tori Amos from 1992, covering Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" :) some of you
know where I'm coming from <3 Kurt was still alive for this and apparently liked it.
