"Valentine"

digital.

Made this for Kit, who does enjoy Valentine's Day. For some reason, I thought
this would take no time at all to make. Instead it took a Long Time and required
lots of concentration, giving me time to think.

Inspired by:

1. Finnish folk art - also "rakkaus" is Finnish for "love", it also resembles "raucous" which means "boisterously disorderly", which is too cute!

2. Sankofa - an African proverb which literally translates to "Go back and take", and has to do with understanding, valuing and learning from the past.

3. Hugin and Munin, the two birds from Norse mythology that represent Thought and Memory, respectively.

4. Les Demoiselles d'Avignon, 1907 - The painting by Picasso, because cubism matters.

I'm finding that I'm losing my ability to communicate effectively.
I think I used to be pretty articulate, but I can't find the words
for anything lately, or at least the right ones for the things that
matter. Afraid to speak.

art, kit
