I was thrilled when I received my Remix assignment, in part because there were so many fantastic stories I could rewrite, and in part because Ion Bond wrote that fantastic Remix for me last year, and I was absolutely giddy with the chance to do a story in return

Hee, you know? I thought something was familiar about the style of this story, and I couldn't quite put my finger on it. It probably had to do with reading so many of your stories in preparation for writing your remix!

I honestly can't remember if I commented on this or not, because LJ was being weird and kept throwing comments back at me. But I really liked the unpeeling-the-onion feel of the original (backwards) version, and I liked what you added to it, especially in the Bobby-Rogue-Pyro scene.

Ha! I bet it does have to do with the amount of stories you read in preparation. I actually didn't ask people to guess my story because I felt it had so much of my big XMM markers in it -- Pyro devolving into John, the John/Bobby/Rogue, all the fire words Pyro uses.

You did comment on the other (and when I went to respond, LJ gave me grief about posting a comment -- I don't know what's going on over there), but I want to say again thank you for your feedback. I love your writing so much (the Remix you wrote me, of course, but all the rest of it, too) it's a huge compliment to know you liked mine.
